The Role & The Team:

Our OneSKY CMATS Program team are building Australia’s new advanced air traffic management system, redesigning our skies, supporting aerodrome expansion, and taking advantage of the latest technologies to optimise the safe and efficient use of airspace. 

The Transition team has been established to ensure that the OneSKY Capability Systems are delivered effectively and efficiently by planning, articulating work packages and oversighting delivery of transition activities across Airservices and Defence through an integrated master schedule. The transition team leads the strategic planning and transition issue resolution required to ensure that both organisations are prepared to accept and support the Civil Military Air Traffic System (CMATS)/Airservices Defence OneSKY Towers (ADOT) and begin realising its benefits and capability as planned.

The Operational Transition Specialist is required to facilitate and coordinate the allocated transition element readiness activities by liaison with Airservices BAU, Defence and OneSKY JPT stakeholders to achieve the required outcomes identified through relevant works packages and the Joint Transition Plan.

The Operational Transition Specialist will lead the allocated transition element through to operations, utilising the OneSKY transition working group framework, which includes three transition elements: Operations, Support and Engineering, and Training. This position will lead the Operational element of transition and will be a key member of the Operations working group.

The Person

The successful applicant will have:

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain strategic relationships to facilitate partnerships and cooperation.
  • Experience in recognising the needs for changing technology systems, developing effective strategies and execute for a successful transition.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and implementing plans, particularly with regards to organisational technology changes.
  • High level organisational skills.
  • Air Traffic Control experience
  • Experience in change management.
  • Worked across different departments in a multi-functional organisation.

Security Clearance
